Structure and classification of fancy yarns

Fancy yarns refer to a type of yarn obtained by using special fiber raw materials, special equipment and special processes to process fibers or yarns in a special way during the spinning process.

Its structure consists of core yarn, decorative yarn and fixed yarn:

Fixed yarn: It plays a reinforcing role and fixes the pattern formed by the decorative yarn so that the pattern is fixed in the way it was produced, thereby avoiding slippage along the length direction. Most of them use thin and strong filaments.

Core yarn: The core yarn is located in the center of the yarn and is the main part of the yarn strength. It is the attachment of the decorative yarn. Generally, filaments or yarns with higher strength are selected as the yarn core.

Decorative yarn: The decorative yarn refers to the fancy effect of the fancy yarn, which plays a decorative role. Different decorative patterns can be produced through different drafting and warp directions.

Fancy yarns can be roughly divided into four categories according to their processing methods: fancy yarns processed by ordinary spinning systems, fancy yarns processed by dyeing methods, fancy yarns processed by fancy twisting machines, and special fancy yarns processed by special spinning equipment:

Fancy yarns processed by dyeing methods, such as: colored dot yarns, printed yarns, rainbow yarns, etc.

Fancy yarns processed by ordinary spinning systems, such as: chain yarns, gold and silver yarns, clamped yarns, etc.

Fancy yarns processed by fancy twisting machines can be divided into the following categories according to the different feeding speeds of the core yarn and the decorative yarn:

Control type, such as: big belly yarn, caterpillar yarn, knot yarn, etc.

Overfeed type, such as: spiral yarn, pigtail yarn, circle yarn, etc.

Special fancy yarns processed by special spinning equipment, such as: chenille yarn, core-spun yarn, woolen yarn, flocking yarn, etc.
