Is 2/45 NM wool nylon blend yarn the same as a 45S/2 yarn?

No, because the two labels use different count systems. 2/45 NM means two plies of Nm 45, so the finished yarn is about Nm 22.5. That works out to roughly 22,500 m per kg, or about 44 tex and 400 denier. In cotton count, however, each Nm 45 single is only about Ne 26.6. How much does the 6% wool change the fabric?

Mostly the hand feel. The wool softens the surface and adds a light wool touch. However, 6% is too little to give the warmth or moisture absorption of a high-wool yarn. It is also far less likely to felt than a wool-rich fabric. Fiber-content labels list the full blend, so garments made from it count as wool-blend products.

How does this ring-spun yarn differ from your compact-spun 2/45 version?

Both share the same count and the same 6% wool blend. The difference is the spinning method. Compact spinning condenses the fibers before twisting, so it gives lower hairiness, a cleaner surface and higher strength. In contrast, ring spinning is the standard, all-round route. Will fabric knitted from this yarn pill?

It can. Polyester and acrylic both tend to pill, so expect some pilling unless the fabric is built to resist it. Stitch length, fabric structure and finishing matter as much as the yarn itself.
