1、Shearing

In spring and autumn, skilled shearers cut wool with professional tools.

2、Grading

The shorn wool is graded according to quality. Wool quality depends on factors such as sheep breed, age and growing environment. After grading, high-quality wool is used to produce high-grade wool yarn.

3、Washing

Shorn wool contains impurities and grease and requires washing. It is treated with high-temperature hot water, wool scouring agent and softener, then rinsed with clean water, dried and packed. Afterwards, the wool is processed by carding machines and combers to remove residual impurities.

4、Drying

The washed wool needs to be dried, usually by natural air drying or mechanical drying. It shall be fully dried before the next processing procedure.

5、Carding and Sliver Making

Carding refers to arranging wool through carding machines and combers to remove residual impurities and short fibers. Finally, the strip-shaped wool is coiled into balls and packed.

6、Spinning

The wool sliver is drafted (stretched and thinned) and twisted simultaneously. Through this process, the sliver gradually becomes finer, and the twisting makes it stronger. Finally, the spun single yarns are doubled and plied into finished wool yarn.

7、Dyeing

Dyeing is the process of coloring wool yarn in various shades to meet diverse customer demands.

8、Weaving

Finally, the dyed wool yarn is sent to the manufacturing workshop for weaving. Weaving is the process of turning wool yarn into fabrics of different specifications and styles.
