SOFTWARM is a 1/17 thermal polyester fancy yarn for fall and winter knitwear. It is 100% polyester and compact spun, with a soft, cashmere-like hand and a full, fleece-like surface.
We manufacture SOFTWARM in colors from the VI-TEX color card or matched to your own color reference. The standard count is 1/17, and other counts can be spun to order.
Warmth, surface and pilling
SOFTWARM keeps knitwear warm through loft rather than bulk. Its raised surface holds still air around the yarn, so a knit can feel warm without being made thicker.
Compact spinning keeps the yarn body tidy. Fewer loose fibers stick out, which gives the fabric a cleaner face. Our guide to compact spinning explains how the process works.
Pilling deserves a closer look. Compact spinning helps, but it does not decide the pilling grade on its own. Fiber quality, stitch structure, finishing, abrasion and care all play a part. Polyester is also a strong fiber, so pills that do form tend to stay on the surface instead of breaking off. Test pilling on your actual fabric before bulk production. Request a quote. Send the count, color reference, quantity per color, destination port and Incoterm.
Start with a trial. Trial orders start at 25 kg per color, enough to check the shade and run a knitting test before you commit to volume.
Knit and check. Knit the trial in your intended structure. Review shade, hand feel, surface, knitting behavior and your pilling or abrasion requirement.
Confirm the order. Agree on packing, port, Incoterm and delivery date. The approved details carry over to the pilot or bulk order.

Shipping
Samples ship by express. Bulk orders go by air or sea, depending on your delivery schedule and cost target. If your order covers several colors, confirm the quantity per color and the packing method when we quote.
FAQ
Does “cashmere-like” mean SOFTWARM contains cashmere?
No. SOFTWARM is 100% polyester. “Cashmere-like” describes how the yarn feels in the hand, not what it is made of. Garment labels and product listings should give polyester as the fiber content.
How warm will a sweater knitted with SOFTWARM be?
That depends on the garment as much as the yarn. SOFTWARM adds loft, but gauge, knit structure, fabric weight and finishing decide how much still air the fabric can hold. The clearest test is to knit the same structure with SOFTWARM and with the yarn you use now, then compare the two swatches.
